Tickets to the inaugural Decanter Shanghai Fine Wine Encounter will go on general release on Tuesday 15 July, Decanter has announced this morning.
The star-studded event, which will bring over 75 of the world’s most prestigious wineries together in China for the first time, is taking place at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Pudong on 29 November 2014, and will mark Decanter’s first event in China.
The Decanter Shanghai Fine Wine Encounter will showcase an unmissable selection of the most renowned international wine estates, and guests will have the chance to taste hundreds of top wines as well as meeting the people that made them across a variety of intimate masterclasses, tutored tastings and a walk-around Grand Tasting.
For the first time in Asia, the directors of the Bordeaux first growths, Châteaux Lafite, Latour, Margaux, Haut Brion and Mouton-Rothschild will host a joint masterclass, leading a select group of guests through a variety of vintages from these legendary estates.
Top Spanish estate Vega Sicilia will be presenting a vertical tasting of Unico and Italy’s Angelo Gaja will be appearing in person to lead a tasting of top Gaja wines.
Other highlights include the chance to meet and taste with Hervé Berland of Château Montrose, Peter Sisseck of Pingus, Aurelio Montes of Montes and Judy Chan, President of Grace Vineyard.
Among the top names confirmed to take part in the two grand tasting sessions are Ornellaia, Champagne Bollinger, Biondi Santi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild.
Tickets will be available exclusively through Decantershanghai.com and will be released at 4pm Shanghai time on Tuesday 15 July.
