Chinese wine lovers will get un-paralleled access to an all-star cast of world class wineries at the third Decanter Shanghai Fine Wine Encounter in November, from Château Lafite Rothschild to greats of Tuscany, Spain and Australia.
Decanter announces today (28 June) that it will hold its third Shanghai Fine Wine Encounter at the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong on 26 November 2016.
Backed by some of the world's most renowned wineries, Decanter's Shanghai Fine Wine Encounter has quickly established itself as one of the must-attend events in China's wine event calendar.
This year will be no exception, with Chinese wine lovers to be treated to a range of masterclasses and Star Producer Focus seminars with prestigious estates.
Château Lafite Rothschild will return to host a masterclass after helping to debut the Shanghai Encounter in 2014 alongside the other four first growths in Bordeaux.
Lafite will be joined by fellow Bordeaux estate Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, which will host a masterclass conducted by one of the region’s most admired winemakers, estate general manager and winemaker Nicolas Glumineau. Ian D’Agata will hold a third masterclass, taking guests to experience Tuscany’s superstars, a chance to discover the best wine estates in Tuscany.
Star Producer Focus seminars this year will include:
· Château Smith Haut Lafitte
· Sparkling wines from unexpected countries
· Vertical of Mas la Plana – Bodegas Torres
· Barolo and Barbaresco with Pio Cesare
· Shiraz of d’Arenberg
· Graham’s Aged Tawny Ports
· Evolution of Sherry - González Byass
Sarah Kemp, Decanter’s managing director, said, ‘Decanter is thrilled to return to Shanghai for the third year with a host of the world’s greatest wine names. We look forward to seeing our Decanter Shanghai wine lovers again.’
Hundreds of other top producers from all over the wine world will also be pouring their wines for guests in the Ritz-Carlton’s grand tasting ballroom.
Tickets for the event will go on sale on 29 June on www.decantershanghai.com.
