The new expert trio of Jane Anson, Ch’ng Poh Tiong and Li Demei will begin a series of opinion-led features, each writing columns exclusive to Decanterchina.com from today.

Jane Anson is Decanter’s Bordeaux correspondent and her column is an insider’s guide to the latest happenings inside and around Bordeaux. Her tenure as columnist began initially in November 2012 and is today extended to include a weekly series profiling Bordeaux’s top estates.

Singapore-based Ch’ng Poh Tiong is a veteran Decanter contributor, writing a column in Decanter magazine, as well as being a Vice-chair at the inaugural Decanter Asia Wine Awards in 2012. Author of 108 Great Chinese Dishes Paired, he also has a blog on Sina.com, China’s biggest Internet portal. A renowned historian, Ch’ng Poh Tiong’s column on DecanterChina.com will explore China’s long history and relationship with wine.

Li Demei is associate professor of wine tasting and enology at Beijing’s agricultural college and vice-general-secretary of the Chinese Viticulture Society. Following an early spell training at Bordeaux’s Chateau Palmer, travelling to the majority of the world’s wine regions, and consulting to a number of Chinese wineries, he is today widely acclaimed as one of China’s leading voices on wine. Li’s column, Demei’s View, will focus on his opinions on the wine scene in China, both as a Chinese winemaker, and wine-lover.

Jane Anson’s column will appear every Thursday, whilst Ch’ng Poh Tiong and Li Demei’s columns will be fortnightly. The launch of DecanterChina’s columnists also coincides with the enrolment of a number of new correspondents stationed in major cities across China.

DecanterChina.com editor John Abbott said: ‘Jane, Poh Tiong and Demei are serious opinion formers in different aspects of the modern wine scene, and showcasing them together strengthens our offering to Chinese wine-lovers enormously.

‘We wanted to introduce editorial insight from leading writers that reflected not only the language, but also the interests and aspirations of our growing Chinese readership. A line-up like this speaks for itself, and I can only hope our readers will be as excited to read it as I am.’

Launched in September 2012, DecanterChina.com is a bi-lingual website, featuring localised wine information, including news, events listings by Chinese city, videos, ‘tip of the day’ wine advice, travel guide to the wine regions and the results of the Decanter Asia Wine Awards. It currently has readers in over 150 cities across China.
