Janet spent her formative years in China before immigrating to the UK as a teenager. She started drinking (good) wine in a Harry Potter style gown during her studies at Cambridge University. Janet is currently completing a book on the history and culture of wine in China, and an essay from the book was shortlisted for the Circle of Wine Writers Young Wine Writer’s Award 2013, in association with Pavilion Publishing and Wine Australia.
